Holly & Ivy Christmas Wedding
Well, I suppose I've kept you all waiting long enough! I do seem to let my blog fall by the wayside during busy times of the year. I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday as I have. Mine has been filled with shopping, traveling, snow, and of course, a relaxing time with family! But before I continue on with my fairy-tale wedding theme, I wanted to add in some seasonal inspiration. This one is a fun twist on a Christmas wedding, leaning towards a traditional English holiday with elements like hot wassail, tartan fabric, a three-tiered bundt wedding cake, snow-covered village, and of course, lots of holly and ivy!

New Project!
So, as promised, I'm excited to share my new project with you! I've been working on a series of wedding inspiration boards that translate classic Disney fairy-tales into real-life possibilities. The first of which is a seaside wedding inspired by "The Little Mermaid".
I wanted this wedding to feel nautical while still romantic - pearls, shells, soft blue, and sea green set the scene, while little touches of the merworld surface in a turquoise halter bridesmaid dress, and form-fitting mermaid wedding gown that flows into a ruffly train. A rocky coast or a sun-washed beach would be ideal for this fairy-tale wedding, but the right touches in any venue would bring this story to life!

Pink Christmas
Remember how I love a pink twist on just about any holiday? I think this soft and romantic hue works especially well for Christmas. Against a stark white or silver backdrop, it can be strikingly elegant and sophisticated. (Not to mention girly!)
Sources: gifts via Country Living, topiary cupcakes via Bakerella, poinsettia tree via Southern Living, sparkly Christmas village via Twig & Thistle, silver tree and pink mantle via BHG, sweets table via Kate Landers Events, snowflake buffet table and pink Christmas tree via Martha Stewart, pink feather wreath via The Lennox
And speaking of a Pink Christmas, you must see just a glimpse of this to-die-for Nutcracker Suite Ballet Party by Kate Landers Events! Much of the design of this party, including the ruffled, layered-pink tablecloth, was inspired by the sumptuous costumes from the classic production of the Nutcracker.

Glitter and Snow Table
I'm back! I think someone here has taken this Thanksgiving holiday a little too far! *Points finger at self* I admit, I have neglected this blog somewhat of late with being out of town, busy to no end with other responsibilities, you've all been there. But now we're into December - the biggest party time of the year! I wanted to welcome in this wonderful month with this gorgeous Glitter and Snow Table from Bird of Bird's Party Blog, which features lots of printable partyware and supplies. Because of its simple and elegant color scheme, this party could very easily be adapted for any celebration during the holidays, especially a New Year's Eve Party.
She has even created a new and adorably festive Christmas Candyland Party Collection. You must check it out! P.S. I've been a little naught, not nice, about posting inspiration boards (which were the start of this blog anyway). I've got a few in the works coming to you soon.

{Real Party} Pucker Up Lemon Party
Here's a little sunshine to brighten your cold, November day! I love the fresh details and lemony colors (and flavors) of this Pucker Up Lemon Party from The Rowdy Stroudy's. This girls' get-together used lots of secondhand items for decor like yellow floral sheets for the tablecloth and re-purposed pillow cases for napkins!
See more photos on Carrie's blog here.
Doesn't this just make you long for summer again?

Day of the Dead Inspiration
Today marks the last day of the Mexican festival known as Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos. Contrary to popular belief, this holiday is not associated with Halloween, but is a gathering of loved ones to party and honor deceased family members. With that in mind, here is some great inspiration that features the fun and celebration that accompanies this unique cultural holiday.

{Real Party} Scrumptious Halloween
One final bit of eye candy for you to close out the holiday weekend is this beautiful Halloween dessert table created by Shauna Younge Dessert Tables and featured on Ultimately Plush. What makes this stylish feature even more amazing is that all the supplies and decor were purchased from Target! I love the clean color palette of black and white with just a splash of orange and the woodsy setting.
This would be one party sure to satisfy any sweet tooth! To see the original post, go here. Happpy Halloween!

Halloween Wedding
Sorry for being somewhat MIA lately. I have been running around like crazy pulling together our own Halloween party that I haven't been able to devote the time here that I would like. It's not much of an excuse, though, as Halloween is just days away and there's still plenty of inspiration to be had!
I love Halloween, and I love weddings, but have you ever noticed how a lot of Halloween-themed weddings can get really zombie-horror-over-the-top? If that's your thing, I totally get that, but I love that you can also use a lot of Halloween elements like pumpkins, a full moon, elegant black, etc. in a sophisticated, (and dare I say romantic?) way.

The effect of the tree silhouette over the dance floor spotlight is simply amazing! Holiday-appropriate yet still elegant!

Halloween Ambiance...and a Giveaway!
When it comes to decorating for Halloween, the first thing I think of after pumpkins is the light effects. Atmosphere is everything when celebrating this spooky holiday! From pumpkins and wall murals to lights and fog, here are some great ideas for setting the mood.
Leaf-carved Pumpkins
I, for one, am planning a really cool effect for our Halloween Party - a glowing backdrop for our dessert table! I'm combining a clear plastic wall decal (found on sale at the grocery store in the holiday decor section) with the printing of a haunted house and gnarly tree and an orange, plastic tablecloth behind it, lit from the back with a light. I'm not sure how it will turn out, but I think it will be really cool!
To really set the mood with a Halloween aroma, you should head over to Tip Junkie before October 22 for an awesome giveaway for a Halloween warmer and 3 wax bars of your choice! If you're not familiar with Scentsy, check out their website here. But be careful, you might just fall in love!
